Sabina Alam

  • Dr Sabina Alam is the Director of Publishing Ethics and Integrity at Taylor and Francis Group. After completing a PhD in neuroimmunology from the University of Bath, and then a postdoctoral position in neuroscience at the School of Pharmacy in London, Sabina moved from research into scientific publishing in 2008, at the open access publisher BioMed Central. After 3 years managing a range of BMC series journals she became the Chief Editor of the flagship open access, open peer review journal, BMC Medicine from 2011-2016.

    In 2017, Sabina moved to F1000 where she was the Editorial Director of F1000 Platforms, which publishes original multidisciplinary scholarly content on an innovative post-publication open peer review model. Over the years Sabina has led or collaborated in various peer review and publishing initiatives with academics and other publishing professionals. Sabina joined Taylor and Francis Group in September 2018, and in her current role leads the Publishing Ethics and Integrity team on providing expert advice and support on ethical, research integrity, peer review and policy matters with the aim of minimising risk and ensuring compliance to the highest publication ethics standards.
